Before a visit

Management emails a notice before each inspection, with the dates and times. Read it to see whether the vendor needs to come into your home. Owners who rent out their home: forward the notice to your tenants.

When you must give access

Some inspections test the fire alarm devices inside every home. Every home must be inspected to certify the system.

  • Management scheduled the vendor to inspect the fire alarm system in every home on Tue, Jun 3, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m.
  • For the testing week of Tue, Mar 24 to Thu, Mar 26, 2026, management asked owners to be home.

When you do not need to be home

Many visits check only the systems in the common areas. The notice then says that in-unit access is not required. Two examples:

  • Fire alarm and sprinkler test at the clubhouse, Wed, Oct 1, 2025, 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Quarterly sprinkler and standpipe inspection, Tue, Jun 9, 2026, 3 to 4 p.m.

If you miss a home visit

The May 2025 notice said the vendor could not take special scheduling requests. The March 2026 notice said the cost of a return visit may be billed to the owner if a home was not open. Check the current notice, or ask management.

Alarms during tests

The fire alarm may sound during a test. The notice says when the vendor is on site. If you see fire or smoke, call 911. The Emergency page has the other numbers.

Fire truck on site

For a standpipe test at the Flats on Mon, Aug 3, 2026, management said a fire truck would be on site to help, and residents did not need to do anything.
